Compulzion is a label based in Plymouth and ran by DJ/Producer Louk. Compulzion specialise in releasing rather dark harder trance and techno. Starting life in September 2005 as a basis of promoting various record labels tracks to DJs, Press, Radio and potential licensees, the first Compulzion event followed which was an outdoor free party which took place on Harford Moor. A decision to set up a label as a University project followed and the debut release Cohesive's - Follow Me came out in January 2009, and release number two by Wragg + Log:One followed in August 2009.
For the third release, Compulzion have sourced a European anthem from dB Shredaz! These two may also be known to you under their aliases of Dancefloor Rockaz, Daro Onic and more famously Shinobi. Between those aliases, the German duo have released anthems on labels such as FE, Atmosphere, Balloon, Cybergroove Digital and many more. Saeure (the German for 'Acid' is exactly that, dark as f**k hard trance that really rocks the place. The original mix has been smashed by the likes of big name Mark EG, Fausto, Nick The Kid, Wragg + Log:One, Gazzy B, Logger + G-Netic, Major Tom, Iain Cross, and many more. It also received a 4/5 review in Mixmag in June 2009! If you want powerful yet sinister hard trance this is definitely the one for you!
The first remix is provided by two of the biggest Teutonic legends known to man, Tom-X vs Warmduscher. Between the two of them they take the hard trance sound and shape a whole new mould with the darker releases on the likes of Fog Area, Shogun, Cases and Tracid Traxxx. In 2009 they also brought us a wicked remake of 'Cocaine' on Smog records which was battered by every DJ worth his weight and this mix takes the track, puts in a harder kick and ups the pace with a rework that has gone on to win favour across Europe with the harder heads.
Finally for remix number two, the production duo of JTB + DJ Chuck-E deliver a more uplifting rework for those of you who want a slightly lighter route than the other two mixes! The duo are well known across the UK with many productions on the likes of Future Sound Corporation, Intolerance, Mental Madness and other leading European labels. Their mix fuses acid with an uplifting melody and still maintains loads of energy.
With three differing mixes to choose from each catering for a harder sound, it's definitely worth giving this one a try to add a little spice to your sets! - germany |
